JOB SUMMARY:

Employee rapidly and accurately transcribes auto parts related data from routine source documents into computer usable form by operating automation devices; uses multiple formats as guidelines for proper entry of the data.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  1. Prepares source data for entry by compiling and organizing data; establishing priorities.
  2. Enters data by operating data entry equipment; coding information; resolving problems.
  3. Verifies and balances data by reviewing data; pulling and returning data to user for correction.
  4. Completes data management by sorting, batching, and archiving files.
  5. Accomplishes department and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
  7. Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements.

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

Function in an environment in a stationary position approximately 50 percent of the time or more. Working knowledge of standard office equipment such as computers, electric typewriters, copiers, fax machines, scanners and other office automation systems to perform a substantial range of office automation support.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Work will typically be in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. There may be times when an employee is exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.  Rarely will an employee be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise. Work is generally conducted in an office environment; however, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required is certain areas.  Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices.  Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  High School graduate or equivalent.

Experience:  3 years of job related experience in an administrative capacity and excellent communication and analytical skills; demonstrated working knowledge of computer systems and ability to operate application software, including database, word processing and spreadsheet programs if necessary.

Required: Experience with MS Office and data programs. Experience using office equipment, like fax machine and scanner. Position requires strict attention to detail, where typing speed, accuracy and knowledge of correct spelling, grammar and punctuation are of the utmost importance. Must have excellent organizational skills, with an ability to stay focused on assigned tasks.

Preferable: Working knowledge of Vehicle Management Information System (VMIS) and the FleetSoft inventory management system.

Licensing:  Associated licenses and certifications may be required.

Clearance:  Must be able to pass background check, drug screening and obtain site clearance to maintain a security access card,  if required.
